Coaching for Confidence

Confidence and self-belief are extremely important in virtually every aspect of our lives and although many of us aspire to have more of each, we often struggle to attain either.  

 

The confidence and the self-belief we have in ourselves (or the lack of it) can show in many ways, for example, in our behaviour, our moods and the way in which we walk and talk.

 

Individuals who lack self-belief and confidence often find that this can impact in other areas of their lives such as their relationships, their career which in turn affects their lifestyle and their state of mind which all begin to suffer unless positive action is taken to address these two key areas.

 

Do you lack confidence and self-belief?

 

If a person does not believe in themselves, who else is going to? The good news for individuals suffering from low confidence and self esteem is that they are both things that can often be developed through coaching.

There are a number of clues that portray to others, just how confident we really are, these can range from your body language, how you speak to others to your behaviour and how you react in different situations. Confident individuals are generally positive about themselves.

 

Individuals who lack confidence and self-belief may feel:

 

• shy and uneasy

• sense of worthlessness

• uncertain of who you are and what you want

• negative thoughts about yourself and your abilities

 

Individuals who are full of confidence and self-belief usually tend to feel:

 

• respected by other people

• excited about new opportunities

• greater enjoyment of life in general

• comfortable facing new challenges

• at ease in social situations, and able to be yourself

Coaching can help individuals learn techniques to develop their confidence and self-belief and help them to create a more positive outlook of life and themselves.

 

Often individuals are able to portray an image of complete confidence to others whilst shaking with fear on the inside. This is a protection method sometimes used by individuals to make up for a lack of self-esteem or feelings about themselves that they would rather not acknowledge or admit to.

 

Self-esteem also often referred to as self-worth, describes the way that an individual feels about themselves regardless of their achievements, looks or other things they feel confident in.

 

Low self-esteem can affect your mood and feeling that we are worth less than others can lead us to strive for perfection however, leave us feeling that we never achieve enough, it can also leave you trying to please others constantly. Individuals who also suffer with low self-esteem can end up feeling depressed.
