The demand for personal development coaching in the UK has soared in the last ten years and is thought to be a result of a mixture of factors from the current economic climate and individual debt to national service cuts and less jobs. In general, many more people are starting to rethink their lives.
Personal development is often compared to spring-cleaning your home. In the same way you might go through rooms examining old belongings and asking yourself whether or not you really need them, personal development improves your life by evaluating certain aspects of it.
Personal development is about increasing your self-awareness and a coach will draw out your strengths and weaknesses and identify the potential that already exists within you. This is accomplished through a series of questions designed to help you understand and build upon those strengths and weaknesses and areas of your life that you would like to change.

Personal development is a form of coaching that focuses entirely on the self. It provides an opportunity to assess and evaluate an individual's current strengths and weaknesses in order to improve any aspect of their life that they wish to address.
It is a way of assessing how you are getting on in life - whether you are happy or not or whether you are reaching your goals, how your state of mind is affecting your relationships and so on. Once we have established where you are in relation to your needs and goals, we can help you devise ways to improve these aspects of your life.
The term 'personal development' originates from America in the late 60s and early 70s. It emerged as part of California's trend for 'self-discovery' and 'life transformation'. This period also saw the emergence of a host of other self-help therapies including Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), gestalt and family therapy.
Our coaches do not necessarily offer direct advice and tend to steer clear of telling clients exactly what to do however, we offer guidance in the form of strategies and personal development plans. These structured plans help you to take the necessary steps towards success and happiness.

• challenge you by identifying inconsistencies in your thought processes
• assist you with implementing and following a personal development plan
• encourage you to think deeply and practically about how you currently live your
life and what you would like to change.
